Sue Blanshan

Sue Blanshan is Director of Academic Affairs at Maryland Higher Education Commission. Previously she was a Visiting Scholar with AIDS Alabama conducting research on housing circumstances and needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States and Kenya. She has also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Trinity University, Washington, D.C.; Executive Director of AIDS Alabama;Director of the Division of Business & Graduate Programs and Associate Professor of Management at Birmingham-Southern College; Assistant Provost, Dean, and Professor of Sociology at the University of Hartford; and Executive Officer for Human Relations at The Ohio State University. She has taught sociology, higher education administration, and management. Blanshan graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with an undergraduate degree in sociology and received her master’s and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in sociology. Blanshan has expertise in higher education administration, leadership and management, and complex organizations.
