Judy Touchton

Judy Touchton is a consultant who provides coaching and resources to women leaders in higher education. For 22 years before launching her consulting enterprise, Touchton identified, promoted, and helped women leaders advance during her tenure at the American Council on Education (ACE). For five years, she was Deputy Director of ACE’s Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) and Director of its 50-state National Network for Women Leaders; she served as Interim Director of OWHE for one year. Touchton also served the ACE Fellows Program and the Office of Minorities (diversity in leadership) Program. Working closely with search consultants, she chaired the ACE Roundtable of Executive Search Firms and served as director of ACE’s Senior Executive Leadership Service. Touchton has advised hundreds of women leaders in their job searches and transitions, primarily to deanships, vice presidencies, and presidencies. Touchton is the co-author of Women College and University Presidents: A Comprehensive Study; co-editor of The Fact Book on Women in Higher Education, a special edition that focused on gender; and co-author of Educating the Majority: Women Challenge Tradition in Higher Education.
