Charlene Dukes

Charlene Dukes is the eighth President of Prince George’s Community College and has 26 years of progressive leadership experience and administrative responsibility in higher education. Previously, Dukes served as Dean of Students at the Community College of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania. From 2002 through 2006, she served on the Appointed Board of Education of Prince George’s County and served a three-year term on the Maryland State Board of Education. She has a bachelor’s degree in English education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a doctoral degree in administrative and policy studies, with an emphasis in higher education, from the University of Pittsburgh. Her scope of knowledge includes student development services, strategic and operational planning, financial management and budgeting, policy development, program administration and implementation, professional development and skills training, facilities planning and renovation, and team building.
